No they didn't. He was found on the bridge with his eyes open and his hands around his neck.
Nobody knows what happened. I texted him myself that morning and several times that day. He was supposed to be flying to the San Francisco area that morning. Hector confirmed with the airport that he never made it to his flight.
People have been to his property. There's no sign of him or of his caretakers.
You have to know something else. What else did he do at the casino? Did you use anything on him that wasn't a healing potion or a spell?
[Well this all seems pretty suspicious- of CC Corp, if Matoba thinks of it first, but he doesn't know anything about Mithrun's involvements in his outside life...]
[... No. That's not entirely true; Mithrun once told him that Matoba reminded him of those he 'used to hang out with' or something like that, didn't he? There are a few ways he could take that, but few of them bode well for him.]
[Trying to leave this life usually didn't.]
I'm afraid I don't know anything else. The damage seemed concerning and certainly like a glitch, but since he didn't seem concerned with it, I thought best to leave him to it since he mentioned that he would report it.
Oh, he did assist me with climbing atop the arcade machines, since he was interested in the testing I was doing to inspect them. The machines didn't have anything bugged about them, I don't think, so I doubt that had anything to do with it?
(We discovered that the display items in the machines are legitimate items. Meaning, the item you receive isn't merely generated into your inventory at the time you 'win'.)
[You see, very important testing. It means you can cheat!]
[why does a crane machine matter!!!! he wants to shake 0koto by the neck right now.]
Did he tell you anything about the fountain? Or about being thrown around, or fighting someone in town? There's an impact crater out there against one of the buildings.
The NPCs also said he was disoriented when he was looking for the gate after he left the casino. Enough that he couldn't follow basic directions.
A fountain? No, he didn't mention anything like that. Or about having any fights with anyone in town. Another player, you mean?
I'm afraid I didn't see where he might have gone after he left, though. I logged off just after that.
So perhaps something happened between when I logged off and when he was found? However, the glitched state seems like the real culprit, to me. Have the admins said anything about him being glitched? They should be able to tell, I would think.
[He's fairly confident in that assessment, anyway.]
That seems typical of him. A wonder he hasn't already been doling punishments out for discussing it, hm? [An attack dog and a good little guard doggy. How quaint, Hien-kun.] If I get the time to log into the game today, perhaps I will see about that.
I might as well inspect this area you are mentioning for myself, since he hadn't mentioned it to me. I was under the impression that the only combat he had done was in that area he was sent.
He had scratches all on the inside of his mouth. On his lips, too. Someone also found a thorn in his teeth. Did he have anything like that when you saw him?
[He has perhaps not been paying as much attention to the side-systems as he could!]
Is that really true, though? There must be more evidence of what might have happened to him in reality than in the game, since we don't have access to the code.
If there's any, we haven't found anything other than he just isn't there anymore. I haven't heard anything back from a missing person's report. I don't know if anyone else has, either.
I see. I've only been dabbling with Alchemist so far.
[Matoba isn't exactly a proponent of digging into others' business, but... Perhaps, at least, some encouragement.]
I suppose if this goes on much longer, it will become impossible to ignore. A missing person will lead to questions no matter what.
[He doesn't really believe that in most cases; part of his profession includes making people disappear. But a battle of money is never a clean one. It might not be quite as easy for CC Corp to bury in a ditch as a nobody.]
That seems more like the outside incident may have led to the online one. Do we know what occurs when someone is forcibly removed from their helmet without logging out?
I see. Well, let's see how things go.
[And if it seems bad...... Matoba would like to do some poking in of his own. After all, he'd very much dislike if their emails were read by some pesky other party.]
I don't think it would be safe, seeing what's happened to other people. But I don't know for sure. No one was able to find him when calling around to local hospitals, though.

Hien isn't saying anything.
The fountain's a mess. Water everywhere. NPCs were saying Mithrun was soaking wet when he went to look for the gate.

But he wasn't eating anything when we met, either. So if he ate something strange, that must have been after we met.

I'm sorry if these questions sound stupid, but you were the last person to see him.
I want to figure out what in the world happened here, because there's nothing anyone can do to find the real him out here.

He said his family would consider it convenient if he vanished. So if he was right, I don't know if they'll push for anything.
