To get to the point of this post—Does everyone remember that post that Oriae made mentioning the bonus gear some of us got?

Well, I got some bonus gear myself, and I'll confirm that it wasn't CCCorp! Or anyone in this game...or "world". In fact I was told that it was cursed before being warned to stop using it or otherwise I'd be harmed.

Sounds kind of crazy doesn't it?

So, what, they're the result of some sort of hack or something? It's the only reason I can think of for something random recognizing they didn't fit.

I'd be curious to know exactly what kind of "harm" was being threatened.

I don't know. Could be.
It's how these things kind of happen in the first place, right?
They told me that it just wasn't anything that was originally from the game.
...and something about how only two others are able to create things.

The mecha grunty that was clearing the skies said that there was a Flick Reaper using a twin blade running around that attacked it. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Wasn't there something about that in the poems you translated?

It could be the Shadowed Man. Or one of the epithets used to signify the forebearers of destruction the poem spoke about.

You know, there was another name they mentioned.
I couldn't make it out since it was completely garbled to the point where it hurt to listen to.
I wonder if the warning they gave me was in reference to those forebearers.

I see. I think I understand. That's a little strange though. Why is the game making it difficult to learn names?

If this wasn't a game then I'd suggest it being haunted.

There are a lot of people who are good at some scientific field but...

But that's not necessarily the same thing.
Science is so varied.
Someone who is good with chemistry probably isn't a good choice to ask about this.

I wasn't very good at it, but there's always some crossover in the fields.

That's true, but it doesn't change how I haven't seen anyone speak up about knowing anything.

It's a shame you weren't in that cathederal when that group heard music. I think you would have done well there.

It'd have to be someone who had more than a working knowledge of the game. Specifically, I assume they'd need to understand the virtual reality technology pretty well, since that seems to be how all this customization was possible in the first place.

You'd think it'd be the admins who could do that, but I'd be surprised if they were given the reins to add stuff at will.

Do you trust this information?

You'd expect someone like that to be working for CCCorp, wouldn't you? Except that doesn't seem to be the case.
And I'm not too sure if either Hien or Zelkova have the ability to do something like that.
It just doesn't seem right.

I don't have a reason why I wouldn't trust it.

It's definitely weird. The ones who should be in control might as well be giving in to some whimsical outside influence. What's more, it isn't as if these forums aren't monitored. If they aren't supposed to be in the game, everyone who confessed to having one could be tracked fairly easily.

That's fair, though I think it's better to take all sides with equal scrutiny. Could you hit them up again if you needed to?

Those are the two who the sprites told me were able to create things in this game like the special gear that we got.
I don't even know what that means.

I haven't yet since I'm not sure where they went, but I could always try to find them.
There's plenty that I'd like to be able to talk to them about separate from this if I can.
