Hello Everyone!
I hope we're doing okay today and are enjoying the new root town. Remember to be careful on the bridges!
To get to the point of this post—Does everyone remember that post that Oriae made mentioning the bonus gear some of us got?
Well, I got some bonus gear myself, and I'll confirm that it wasn't CCCorp! Or anyone in this game...or "world". In fact I was told that it was cursed before being warned to stop using it or otherwise I'd be harmed.
Sounds kind of crazy doesn't it?

If this wasn't a game then I'd suggest it being haunted.
...unless games can be haunted???

If someone does, they haven't spoken up about it.

Is anyone here a neuroscientist?

Science is so varied.
Someone who is good with chemistry probably isn't a good choice to ask about this.
no subject
it would depend on their field in chemistry i think

I never studied too much of science or chemistry if I must be honest.

Unless you have?
If this was related to music somehow then I'd be a lot more useful.

It's a shame you weren't in that cathederal when that group heard music. I think you would have done well there.
no subject
I doubt that you'd have a recording of it handy.
Do you think you could describe the music to me?

I'd hate to want a next time but if there ever is one then I'd hope that I could get involved somehow.

Also try to record it if you can.
There's no telling if it'll work if my past experience is any example, but it's always worth the shot!

Oh!! So that's the song that went along with those lyrics.
Interesting; it's using polyphony...
You don't hear it too much today but it was common back in the 13th and 14th century.

Yes.
Was it used for religious music? It sounded typical for a cathedral, to me.

But for your question, yes and no.
For medieval Europe and the church, traditionalist didn't like how it felt as though the nature of prayers were being lost to the music while others found it a nice change of pace.
Ultimately it was banned from being played in churches.
I doubt the developers of the game thought that deeply about using polyphony. I bet it's more likely they did it because of the way it'd make someone feel.

This may seem obvious. But, how is it intended to make someone feel?

I think the mood of this one is pretty self-explanatory, however in general polyphony has been described by some to "empowering" with how each part of the song has their moment to stand out instead of how things would simply blend together as a harmony.
