To get to the point of this post—Does everyone remember that post that Oriae made mentioning the bonus gear some of us got?

Well, I got some bonus gear myself, and I'll confirm that it wasn't CCCorp! Or anyone in this game...or "world". In fact I was told that it was cursed before being warned to stop using it or otherwise I'd be harmed.

Sounds kind of crazy doesn't it?

Except, for some reason, it doesn't feel like they would be the same.
Creating something and then doing /that/ are two different things.

My armor does do that, though. Even after the mirror glitch was fixed.

That's why I can't help but wonder.

I feel like that was pretty obvious deep down. Like, I would definitely call some of the gear effects I read about on that post curses.

Makes me wonder if they mean like...a virus, though. And the great stats are a draw to keep using infected gear.

so im okay!
though i'm thinking of switching it out with the higher level gear drops from dungeons
and i hit the cap again
so im not sure if theyll give me a new one or not
id rather not get a bonus set if its like that
but im here to play the game at its fullest so

You know, there was another name they mentioned.
I couldn't make it out since it was completely garbled to the point where it hurt to listen to.
I wonder if the warning they gave me was in reference to those forebearers.

It really does look cool when it changes. I think that's the only weird thing about my set.

Their special armor has appeared like a bug elsewhere?

I haven't heard of it, no. Maybe it's just coincidence.

A lot of us that had bad issues have things about our armor that are really personal, though. If whatever this person is can access our memories like the mirror did, maybe that's how they got the idea for all this equipment.

There were all kind of different effects on the gear, weren't there?
I'd say some of them were pretty personal but I don't know want to speak for everyone.

A virus certainly sounds like a surefire way to invite trouble onto yourself.

But something like that sounds outrageous, don't you think?
I know I already made myself sound crazy enough making this post, but having access to someone's memories like that sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
How would something like that even be possible?

How am I supposed to know? They made the mirrors work, and they made my armor almost impossible to wear now because of the same problem. If they can make that happen... there has to be some weird brain thing they're doing? Maybe?

Hopefully nothing like that is going to happen.
I'd like our 1 on 1 to be about things that are nice and nothing too sad or scary.
If something does happen, though, I do want to hear it.

It just feels wrong to think of it being that sinister. I know I might be alone in that thinking.

the in-game stuff telling us that we shouldnt be using the armor
and zelkova confirmed that the bonus gear wasnt a part of anything they planned
along with the title too
id understand if it was some main story quest or something
but this is really weird

No, I think you have a point. I don't mean brainwashing, anyway.

If this game can make things feel and smell and taste and sound super real, then maybe doing something with our memories is just using the same equipment they already use to make us taste fake food or feel fake wind. When it was hot the other week, it felt like my whole body was reacting, like I was really struggling out in the sun.

I can't pretend to know how they do that, either.

Just awful noise that ended up hurting my ears and head.

I see. I think I understand. That's a little strange though. Why is the game making it difficult to learn names?

It'd have to be someone who had more than a working knowledge of the game. Specifically, I assume they'd need to understand the virtual reality technology pretty well, since that seems to be how all this customization was possible in the first place.

You'd think it'd be the admins who could do that, but I'd be surprised if they were given the reins to add stuff at will.
