a quick question about some of the equipment, after a rather intense encounter with a mr. punisher at the party

what, exactly, is yaoi? the fact i had a hardcore encounter where i'm not even sure what happened to me leaves me wondering if i should be concerned.

[This might not be the first time this question appears on the forums - as it's quickly deleted for being posted in the wrong topic, and then reposted to a different topic... and then deleted again.

And reposted, again, out of no small measure of spite for the head admin.]

Otaku! Diehard fans of anime, manga, and games! There's a whole subculture around the term. Naturally the otaku population is biggest in Japan, but there are a lot of us all around the world. You'd be hard-pressed to find people more passionate about their hobby than otakus!

What kind of response is that?

NONSENSE?!

What's the POINT?????

The POINT is that it makes me happy! It lets me connect with people in ways I couldn't before! I'd be nothing without my otaku identity!

I don't know what better way to explain it but it's more than just having a hobby for me. A lot more.

Fine, sure. Hobby+ works.

Anyway, yaoi paddles were conjured up in the otaku communtiy, but not everyone agrees with them. It was something stupid and fun at first, but people keep bringing them to cons and actually injuring others with them.

It's all super cringe. I hope they get banned from cons sooner rather than later.

[This is, unfortunately, completely normal conversation for Levi.]

USUALLY these kinds of things are brought in as harmless cosplay props. That's why no one thought much of it at first.

That's the thing. They WEREN'T. IDK what kind of fight club you think these cons are but they're peaceful 90% of the time. The other 10% is people taking things WAY too far like with the paddles.
