un: Owen
a quick question about some of the equipment, after a rather intense encounter with a mr. punisher at the party
what, exactly, is yaoi? the fact i had a hardcore encounter where i'm not even sure what happened to me leaves me wondering if i should be concerned.
[This might not be the first time this question appears on the forums - as it's quickly deleted for being posted in the wrong topic, and then reposted to a different topic... and then deleted again.
And reposted, again, out of no small measure of spite for the head admin.]

What's the POINT?????
The POINT is that it makes me happy! It lets me connect with people in ways I couldn't before! I'd be nothing without my otaku identity!

[It's hard to imagine even having that much passion for something, for Owen, but that's... Well. He's all fucked up and bad.]

but what does this have to do with yaoi oars being cringy? how is that not an otaku thing?

Anyway, yaoi paddles were conjured up in the otaku communtiy, but not everyone agrees with them. It was something stupid and fun at first, but people keep bringing them to cons and actually injuring others with them.
It's all super cringe. I hope they get banned from cons sooner rather than later.

why would a convention let someone with a wooden oar into begin with? that sounds so stupid.

USUALLY these kinds of things are brought in as harmless cosplay props. That's why no one thought much of it at first.
