un: Mithrun1 | Re: Digital Conference
There's a digital conference on September 23rd. We'll be able to ask CC Corp questions about the game and its anomalies.
How clearly they'll answer, I don't know. But it may be worthwhile to pool together everyone's observations, speculations, and complaints here. Different people have seen different things in Fragment, and not a lot of that information is consolidated.
If you've commented on the forums with your observations before, or seen a worthwhile comment, then you can re-link it.
For example, on the topic of the level cap armor:
• UTA's post (in-game NPCs' warning against using it)
• Zelkova's response (indicating the armor was not an intended feature, nor are titles)
• UTA's comment (in-game NPCs claiming only two individuals can "create things")
If you want to talk about something offline for whatever reason, DM me. I don't really mind sharing my number or email.

We had to solve it to access the area:
What clings to you?
Bear it—you cannot.
Accept it—you cannot.
But hidden—it is from you.
Recite its name

"one's own shadow".
there was nothing there except a stone dragon that looks like it's alive and the feeling something terrible would happen if as stayed too long

'The shadowed man will not come back here in search of the Twilight dragon.'
It doesn't sound like a coincidence. It sounds like a sort of...quest? Like a knight on a journey to slay a dragon.
Maybe the dragon would have come alive and you'd have to fight it if you two lingered too long. So it's good you got out of there.

but the worry was we'd get u
turned to stone too
Which could be part of the cursed wave?

like, that's the end of life isn't it?

Maybe. It depends on if the shadowed man searched for the twilight dragon for aid or to kill it though. i wonder why its name was redacted in the chaos gate descriptions.
no subject
As for why its named was redacted...I'm not sure. Maybe to try to keep it secret?

the name was in the song though. i know i translated it, but it would have been picked up elsewhere eventually even if I hadn't, right?
no subject
I wouldn't know for sure if that's the case. Some things only can be found certain places at certain times, I'd think.

It's still interesting that this phrase was blocked out, though. And, if my supposition is correct... it sounds as if humanity lost its battle against this Cursed Wave, by the phrasing of it. But there's not enough information to be sure. I hadn't thought about it before, but it seems to match the number of characters as the phrase "cursed wave."

Though, if this is true... I wonder what the story is behind the towns now. The NPCs seem to be operating as normal... Did humanity succeed against the Wave, despite initial failures, allowing people to prosper now? Or... did they fall to the Wave, enter a period of decline, and then recently saw a revival, leading us to the Towns we have now?

We're assuming the shadowed man is good. It's possible he may have had malicious intention behind finding the twilight dragon. I say this because of the undead dragon enemy mention here.
If dragons were allies, perhaps the shadowed man turned them against humanity somehow to aid the Wave - based on the poem, it seemed there were those who aided the Wave or lost themselves to it.
It's one possibility of infinite.

I wish it was easier to find more things about the game's setting so we know what is intentional and what isn't.
Of course, the entire poem could be a big metaphor for something else too/

Since we're talking possibilities and all.
