un: Ganymede - Mithrun's case

...What does have everyone have now?

It's been more than two days now since what happened.

Whatever everyone has been finding out, we should put it together, or something like that. Even as new information comes in.

As for me, I took a look at the bloody trail of footprints, which I confirmed to be Mithrun's. He didn't seem to be in any much of a rush, like he wasn't paying much mind or attention to where he was going either.

The trail of blood was only a mess due to the amount of traffic, as it is, without adding to any more prints as NPCs don't leave footprints.

Anyone else have anything more?

There's always someone who gets really into the fishing minigame I guess.

I mean technically at no point have you or will you have to fish. It's an optional part of the game to like, have fish.

thats not what a beta tester should say

It seems like this guys got beta testing the fishing covered, it'd obviously be redundant for anyone else to do it.

[No he's just lazy.]

he was also glitch testing to see why some fish were the weird creepy placeholder ones and others were rendered normally

not here

[He knows better than to clog up an important post with this, but...

Leave the placeholder fish alone. They are NOT weird and creepy. :(]

What's a "placeholder" fish even look like?

Whoever made that thing aint never seen a fish before, jesus mary and joseph.

he must have been researching something. he had a lot of fish out on the beach on Friday, too

Some people just really like fishing in video games for some reason I think.

nah thats not it.

vogel i think had the better idea.

i think he did a lot of weird stuff to try and learn what did and didnt work. not because he liked it.

You mean to tell me someone was actually playtesting correctly?

Like actively trying to break the game rather than just the normal use case. You're the only other person who's expressed to me wanting to try and do it properly, Red.

it gets hard when it feels like cccorp treats us weird for breaking the game sometimes

i wonder if thats what they really want :-(

Given how they handled this whole situation I don't know if they know or care about typical or proper protocol in this kinda environment.

Which is wild because there's no way no one on the dev team hasn't been through this process before. This isn't a "developer's first attempt" game.

i dont know what that means but okay

i think they need to give better rules but they probably wont

if something really did happen to mithrun and they blame it on him like they did with hana i think thats just bullshit

He had 99 of nearly everything else. Looking at it that way, 16 was the odd number out, really.

Beyond what everyone else's said, there's always crafting. I haven't looked into alchemy, but there must be at least one potion that takes fish.

I haven't looked into it either, but now I'm horrified wondering if the potions actually taste like the ingredients you put in them, since food tastes for real in this game. I don't care how big a state boost it gives me, I don't wanna drink a potion with fish in it.

[personal profile] ophidie 2023-09-11 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The health potions have always tasted fine to me. You're overthinking this.

[Though once you start thinking about it...maybe it becomes harder and harder to ignore the ingredients list, like knowing a hated vegetable was hidden in their food immediately alerts a child to the taste.]

Anyway. From the information I have it wouldn't surprise me if he kept his inventory fully stocked most of the time. He must have needed to heal at some point but couldn't replenish.

Ain't he got like a bunch of fucking conditions in real life anyway? That can't have helped with whatever went down. Weakened constitution or whatever.
