If I had to guess, they're waiting to release a press statement and locking things down until then.

The responsible thing to do would be to shut it down for now. I doubt that's what'll happen, though. Right now they're probably doing legal inquiries, making sure they're still covered to keep things running.

[Presumably this is before rope drop on investigation? But even if it isn't, the thought still applies. Everybody did sign a waiver.]

I wouldn't be surprised if you were pretty on the nose about this. And now with all of the reports about Mithrun missing IRL, this is looking less and less like just a video game. It's definitely more than that, at this point.

The attention is why I think we're looking at an inquiry period. Even if people know him in real life, there's a lot that won't be shared publicly for privacy. Like we have a lot of that, when it's so easy to find information these days.

I wonder what would have happened if it was someone who didn't have anyone to look for them outside the game.
