To get to the point of this post—Does everyone remember that post that Oriae made mentioning the bonus gear some of us got?

Well, I got some bonus gear myself, and I'll confirm that it wasn't CCCorp! Or anyone in this game...or "world". In fact I was told that it was cursed before being warned to stop using it or otherwise I'd be harmed.

Sounds kind of crazy doesn't it?

I've spent a lot of time streaming these past two years and I have a lot of fans that I want to make sure I understand. :-)

You don't have to tell me who, of course, I truly think it's beautiful that you've found someone to care for in this game.

The person in question doesn't even know it... but I'm not sure I have any plans to change this.

But some things just aren't meant to be, I don't think.

There are obstacles, aren't there? Distance... and other things.
It's a nice thought, but I try to stay realistic.

All relationships come with obstacles.
I've had some people tell me that a successful long distance relationship are some of the strongest.

Although I've never been in a relationship myself before.
Not even in person, yet alone online.

Neither have I but I've seen plenty growing up. Good and bad.
If it's any comfort, my parents were in a long distance relationship for many years.
I've never seen two people who love each other more than them.

"Somber" and "lonely" was probably the intent. From the developers, or whoever made that area. I don't think the game models area damage otherwise, so the statue was deliberate.

I know it doesn't help to speculate anymore than we already have but I wonder how much of these poems and songs that we find are related to the game itself...
Or if they could somehow relate to what's been happening to us.

...I wonder as well. If anyone has clarified how much of what we've found was intended quest dialogue and game lore, I haven't seen it.

If there is a third party adding things like the bonus gear, I see no reason that some of the other content could not have come from them also.

I also haven't seen it. However, the lore of the world of the Fragment seems fragmented as well.

It's just a matter if the third party is human or not.
If you ask me, anyway.

I don't know. It's just weird. I still don't believe things can be "cursed" in a video game, but it might be worth taking another look at this armor.

It's more about my interactions with certain NPCs.
This will make me sounds crazier but, at times I find myself thinking that the Fragment feels not too different from our own.
And it's not to give credit to the developers for any world-building they might have done.

I do; I know exactly what you mean and it's why I also worry.
It might be pointless in doing so, but I don't want them to get caught up in whatever is tangled up in us. It wasn't as though they were programmed to deal with all of this.

Obviously I have my reasons for being wary of mine, and while I'm not going to be wearing it, I wonder if we'll get new ones with this new level cap.
I don't like looking at things too negatively but it's something to keep in mind for sure.

It's difficult to avoid giving them at least some credit for that. Even if you're implying that some of the NPCs are something like AI, that would be [ impossible ] a huge technical hurdle.

Was yours bad, then? Mine felt silly, like it was a jab at my job. I thought it was just a custom present from CC Corp for taking part in the beta but I'm not so sure now.

No, mine wasn't bad at all; it was rather cute and suited me perfectly. I equipped it almost immediately.
I believe when they were starting to appear someone had asked Zelkova before about the special armor and he said it hadn't been from CC Corp.
Of course then these NPCs said the same thing except referring to it as "artifacts" and were also afraid of it while letting me know that they were cursed.

Would it be any more of a hurdle than what they've already done with how realistic they've made things?
I'm not familiar with technology in the slightest but you'd think that this level of sensory realism would be harder than AI.

I'm not a neuroscientist. I don't know which is harder. But if we're ranking which features of the game most defy common sense, I think the mirror incident and the bonus gear take precedence.
