Hello everyone!!!

Juuust putting out feelers to see if anyone hasn't done a dungeon yet, and wants to team up with an experienced adventurer like myself! (Lol I only went on one) I'm showing poor Owen the ropes, so we've got room for a few more people :) First come, first serve~

For anyone who's not looking for dungeon stuff, or if you are, a fun question for you all: Is pizza a sandwich or a pie? Let's debate!!!!!!

The average savory pie would have a top crust on it, while pizza does not unless something has gone very, very wrong. However, that also disqualifies it from being a sandwich as that's also something between two forms of bread.

Pizza is, however, indistinguishable from an open-faced sandwich.

I see where you're coming from, Oriade! But pizza has a bread-based dough...which is why some people argue that it's a sandwich more than a pie.

What do you think about that?

i get that the dough is bread based
thats why it goes in the oven so the dough can rise
but like...
there's no top bread
so it cant be a sandwich
a pie though?
not all pies have thick crusts on the top
but there can sometimes be a thin layer of something and maybe decorations
or toppings for the pizza
and most pizzas have cheese as a layer above their sauce of choice!
so its definitely more like a pie than a sandwich!!

Interesting, interesting! I've read that people are convinced it's a pie because of the crust and stuff, which sandwiches normally don't have, but neither of them feel perfect!

I think an open-faced sandwich is a nice compromise. Though...apparently, if you try to look up the definition of a pie, pizza shows up somewhere? Wild.

It's true that not all pies have that thick crust on top, isn't it? Like pumpkin pie, custard pie... It just depends on how you make it, I think.

You would think that'd be the clearer answer, but there are a good number of people who've said they think it's a sandwich! Shocking, right?

Someone up above actually said it's more like an open-faced sandwich! I can totally see that, too.

Pies are usually round.
And I guess you could put pizza toppings in a sandwich, but that doesn't make it a pizza.

Hmm, so you're in Club Pie? There seems to be way more of you than Club Sandwich. I've seen square pizzas before, though. Would that mean those specific pizzas are sandwiches?
