That said, as we are already dating, I imagine you must be asking this question for someone else.
So for whoever else this is for, I believe telling someone that you love can be done in various methods. Whether by actions purely, or making it clear in words, whether this be done directly or indirectly. Though, I am not an expert in these matters.
Say what you feel. Even if you're not sure it's love or not. If it's someone you feel safe with or someone that makes you smile, then I think it will make them happy to know what they mean to you.
I don't know if it needs to be special. But it's better to say something and think about it together than just let it be a secret.
My gf was the first one to say it to me. I don't think there was really any plans put into it, but she felt it was the right thing to say in the moment bc I was having a hard time and she wanted me to know how important I am to her.
I think now's as good of a time as any to say it if you really do love them. Maybe when you're hanging out next?
I will let him know in due time. A lot of people have been telling me to just say it honestly, so I think that's the route I'll take, no fanfare needed. :)
