un: Mithrun1 | Re: Digital Conference
There's a digital conference on September 23rd. We'll be able to ask CC Corp questions about the game and its anomalies.
How clearly they'll answer, I don't know. But it may be worthwhile to pool together everyone's observations, speculations, and complaints here. Different people have seen different things in Fragment, and not a lot of that information is consolidated.
If you've commented on the forums with your observations before, or seen a worthwhile comment, then you can re-link it.
For example, on the topic of the level cap armor:
• UTA's post (in-game NPCs' warning against using it)
• Zelkova's response (indicating the armor was not an intended feature, nor are titles)
• UTA's comment (in-game NPCs claiming only two individuals can "create things")
If you want to talk about something offline for whatever reason, DM me. I don't really mind sharing my number or email.

maybe because he was dead long enough in game to trigger some sort of condition?
no subject
in a totally different town?
its scary to think theyd have an option for that considering its not even supposed to happen
cause its not supposed to happen is it??
no subject
it's 'the only graveyard in this world'
there's a lot we don't know but what i want to know is
why program a graveyard
no subject
but mithrun never died so why would he be in there anyway?
no subject
from what i could tell, the graveyard isn't meant to be for us, but the npcs in the game? but in that case, why hire someone to guard it?
no subject
except we can still see it so i guess not
did him being dead so long make the game think he was an npc or something
no subject
so permanent deaths that change things here can happen
and the npcs were weirdly good at noticing stuff
no subject
i didn't think you could do th at
no subject
but it happened
we lost all the lore with it

I wonder what would have happened if they'd buried me. Would I have woken up, but buried underground? Or would the game lock my avatar in a "dead" state, preventing me from being able to wake up in the game or in reality?

Though, again, that's just speculation.

Ganymede logged out during the incident at the cathedral and still didn't wake immediately. It might be a precondition, or someone might do permanent damage to their real body verifying it. What's clear is that we should take a certain amount of care. Particularly considering the reaction to the log out bug.
no subject
I guess you wouldn't have been able to access the game again, or you'd have to restart from the beginning?
no subject
( Since he'd be dead and all, )
That depends on if I'd be conscious if I hadn't "logged out" from the game. It's unclear if my avatar "logging out" had anything to do with me waking, but if it did - then I may not be awake to try to access the game again (and fail) or restart the game.
Though, hypothetically, if those two things are unrelated... Then yes, I think those are both possible. Being locked out of the game is a possibility. I'd probably have to contact support about it.

[please. please he already had to handle this twice in the last two weeks he is so tired]
i thought removing your headset was supposed to log you out right away though. why didn't it?
no subject
Maybe because I'd been unconscious for too long. My carer said he found my already unconscious in my apartment around noon, but I think I died not long after meeting with Matoba, and I recall I had to meet him very early my time due to time differences.
Alternatively... Maybe it's because the debuff communicated to my brain that I was "unconscious, indefinitely." My brain accepted that signal and acted accordingly. Because of the glitch scheduling no end time to my unconsciousness to my brain, or because the headset had been removed from me and I was thereby unable to receive "new" signals from the game, I was left in a comatose state.
If not for the NDA, it may be worth examining if the "death" state after being killed in-game is similar to a "comatose" state in regards to the level of brain activity present. It's possible that we're effectively comatose already every time we die, with a built-in end time and an ability to rouse from it (via headset removal), and my situation is just what happens when there is no end date set and the rousing upon headset removal mechanism malfunctions.
no subject
yeah from what okoto said it sounds like it was really early for you
even if theres some sort of failsafe like that its still kind of bad that it can be glitched around in the first place. i dont like the idea of testing that. its playing around with leaving people braindead if you do it wrong, right?
maybe that s something to pin them on at the conference for some answers.
no subject
That's true. I agree it's worth exploring. If in-game death already leave us in a coma-like state, or a state at the cusp of coma, there's a great risk associated with that - as we've seen, it's not impossible for a glitch to occur during that process. I'll make a note of that.
no subject
please dont test it on your own okay?
no subject
( and maybe because people are worried about him. maybe, )
no subject
you dont deserve to be in a coma again. we can figure something else out without putting your life at risk okay?
you cant really do what you want if youre asleep forever right?

If that were the case, we would have had to search the reaches of this world to find you again. And we would have.

You're right that once the grave is closed up, the system would probably just move me to another location in the game.
I wonder if having my avatar in hand is enough. It seems like there was some kind of trigger that caused me to wake up, but it's still not clear what.
no subject
Or it could be the power of love.
Or, more likely, your resilient will.
